Start your day in a positive way

Most people enjoy working and living with people who try to view life, and live life, for what it is---a beautiful gift.  Starting the day off in a positive way is not only healthy for you but it has a positive effect on those around you.  There is a power in the words we use, the things we say, and the things we do. So why not start your day off with a positive greeting.  Most people greet each other with words that have no energy.  When asked how are you doing you hear “I’m OK,’  “I guess I’m making it,”  “I’ll survive,” “Hangin’in there,” “Is it payday?” or “Don’t know now, talk to me later.” Wouldn’t you rather say or hear “Super-fantastic”, “Wonderful”, “Couldn’t be better”, “Celubrious” celebrating life, “Brand new” or “Great and having fun”.  Be happy, use words that lift up your attitude and the attitudes of others and when you are feeling a little down don’t tell them how you feel, but rather how you want to feel. Show the goodness in your heart not your sad, mad or stupid side.
                                                Thoughts to Ponder
·       There’s a purpose to life’s events, to teach you how to laugh more or not to cry too hard.
·       It’s better to lose your pride to the one you love, than to lose the one you love because of pride.
·       You don’t have to remain awake at night to succeed---just stay awake days.
·       Robert A. Heinlein; “Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.”

“I learned that the best feeling I would ever have is the gratitude of the joy of living. Better and deeper than any other feeling; it is perhaps the genesis of all other really good feelings in the human repertoire after almost dying.”

--Lewis smedes, after almost dying

After the terrorist attack on the Twin Towers, the Pentagon and the plane in Pennsylvania, many of us thanked the Lord above for being alive and healthy and where we were at that time. Why does it take a tragedy or a brush with death to awaken your sense of gratitude? And what will it take for you to wake up and experience the joy available in this moment and be thankful for the ordinary everyday things of life?  Now is the time to adopt the attitude of gratitude for being alive and able to take in the world though all of your senses as well as being able to smile and caress your loved ones. Begin each day with this single thought “I’m going to have a great wonderful celubrious day.” Positive thoughts are the most powerful forces you will ever experience but they have little power at all when they are without action. If your thoughts are to have a great day and you take actions to have a great day, guess what? Yep! A great day is yours.  Don’t wait until you face death to cultivate gratefulness and to appreciate the feeling that gratitude can give you.
Random Reflections

·       Do you love life? Then don’t squander time, for time is the stuff life is made of.
·       Better by far you should forget and smile, than that you should remember and be sad.
·       Death leaves a heart that won’t heal.  Love leaves a heart that no one can steal!
·       WORRYING does not take away tomorrow's TROUBLES, it only takes away today's PEACE. It is like a rocking chair. It gives you something to do but can't take you anywhere.

“That it will never come again is what makes life so sweet.”
--Emily Dickinson
It’s easy when you are lying on the beach with a full moon and a clear sky full of stars with the sound of the waves rolling ashore to give yourself over to being grateful. Gratitude is easy when life is good but not necessarily so when the going gets tough. A key to overcoming the rough times is to not obsess on past failures, illnesses, distractions or bad experiences but rather to focus on the present moment. When you are focusing on today, the past and the future will fade away and you can become alive in the moment. Enjoying each new day with each new experience and knowing it is yours to keep forever is what makes life so sweet. That mischievous deed, unique smile, look of awe, surprise, admiration or love that you have seen on your loved ones faces are precious and special moments that will never come again in the same way.  It is then; with much appreciation and gratitude you can add those sweet moments of joy to your memory jar. Someone once said, “Gloom is but a shadow and behind it and within your reach is joy; also in the darkness is radiance and you only have to look to see it.”

Random Reflections
·       When you run so fast to get somewhere you miss half the fun of getting there.
·       When you worry and hurry through your day, it is like an unopened gift---thrown away.       Life is not a race.  Do take it slower and hear the music before the song is over.
·       The best way to keep kids at home is to make the home a pleasant atmosphere and let the air out of their tires.

A message of love on Easter Day.
“Young love is a flame, very pretty, very hot and fierce but still only light and flickering.  The love of the older and disciplined heart is as coals deep burning and unquenchable.”

--Henry Ward Beecher
When you are dating, engaged or newlywed there is a spin cycle of excitement, anticipation, expectations, hopes, demands, and pressures that keep you orbiting in enthusiasm. This spin is the flickering light of love. A friend once told me, “Don’t go for looks; they can deceive and wealth fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile and can make a dark day seem bright.” Find the one that can make your heart smile or be that person who can make their partner smile. If you do, your enthusiasm, happiness, joy and exhilaration for life will become ravenous. In fact making your partner happy will become habitual and one of the key ingredients of your relationship. Keeping your partner interested in doing things such as making dream lists, traveling, biking, camping, walking, sightseeing, reading together, exercising, or boating becomes easier when each of you is thinking of the other. It will do wonders in keeping the flame burning and develop a love for each other that becomes unquenchable. You only have one life and one chance to do all the things you want to do, as a team.
Random Reflections
·       Immature love says, “I love you because I need you.”  Mature love says, “I need you because I love you.”
·       Commitment to each other creates a small island of certainty in the swirling waters of uncertainty.
·       Keep your Lord with you in your commitment and remember “No God – No Peace.  Know God – Know peace.”
·       Love gives itself; it is not bought.
