Something to consider for the NEW YEAR
WHAT IF THERE ISN'T ANYMORE
One day a woman's husband died, and on that clear, cold morning, in the warmth of their bedroom, the wife was struck with the pain of learning that sometimes there isn't "anymore". No more hugs, no more special moments to celebrate together, no more phone calls just to chat, no more "just one minute."
Sometimes, what we care about the most gets all used up and goes away, never to return before we can say good-bye, say "I love you." So while we have it, it's best we love it, care for it, fix it when it's broken and heal it when it's sick.
This is true for marriage.....And old cars... And children with bad report cards, and dogs with bad hips, and aging parents and grandparents. We keep them because they are worth it, because we are worth it.

Some things we keep -- like a best friend who moved away or a sister-in-law after divorce. There are just some things that make us happy, no matter what.
Life is important, like people we know who are special.. And so, we keep them close!

I received this from someone who thought I was a 'keeper'! Then I sent it to the people I think of in the same way.  Suppose one morning you never wake up, do all your friends know you love them?

Let every one of your friends know you love them. Even if you think they don't love you back.. And just in case I'm gone tomorrow:

I LOVE YA!!!

Letting go of non-essentials

“My spiritual quest is the painful process of learning to let go of things not essential.”

---Bill Welsh
Sometimes days are not filled with what you wish for or what you hope for but come with problems and issues that seem unsolvable.   If you trust in your Lord you know that He will bring for you the essentials of life; what you need, what you have to learn and what you need to grow spiritually.  It seems that if you don’t get what you want you suffer; if you get what you don’t want; you suffer; even when you get exactly what you want you still suffer because you can’t hold on too it forever.
Every day when you wake up, you have been given another gift from your God. Right before you, sent by Him, a whole day to use in the best possible way and He allows you to determine the outcome with your choices.  Sometimes your day will come with sadness, deception or even tears.  But at other times it will come full of surprises, happiness, success and achievements. So if you start each day with trust, love and enthusiasm, it may just be the day your dreams of a wholesome life will come true.  We all have wants needs and desires and I hope that this message brings you some essentials of spiritual growth and enlightenment.
Random Reflections

·       Life does not care about what you want---just about what you need
·       Let your wants be ruled by reason.
·       Nothing I say this day will teach me anything.  So if I'm going to learn, I must do it by listening.
·       The Idle mind knows not what it wants.
·       The husband who wants a happy marriage should learn to keep his mouth shut and his checkbook open

New page for next book

“Words; like angels, are powers which have invisible
power over us.  They are personal presence’s which have whole mythologies, and their own guarding, blaspheming, creating, and annihilating effects.”   --James Hillman

The Bible, Psalms, 141:3 says, “Set a guard over my mouth, O Lord, keep watch over the door of my lips.” Being discrete is always desirable but it’s your choice in allowing your words to be love angels or spiteful devils that blaspheme. Remember, good debating and verbal abilities are worthless unless you have the ability to control them. Bruises and broken bones heal in a short time whereas feelings, emotions and self-esteem can be devastating and take years even a lifetime to heal. Learn to be flexible because the doors to love are marked with “Push” and “Pull.”  Let your words be like angels as it is always better to lose your pride to a friend or lover, than to lose a friend or the one you love because of pride.

Random Reflections

·       A closed mouth gathers no feet.
·       Hebrews 13:2 “Be not forgetful to entertain strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
·       We are like angels with only one wing; and we can only fly by embracing one another.
·       Gratitude is our most direct line to God and the angels.  If we take the time, no matter how crazy and troubled we feel, we can find something to be thankful for.
